CMS Memo on Deficiency Citations
The Center for Medicaid and State Operations/Survey and Certification Group issued a memorandum dated March 10, 2005 that discusses Associated Deficiency Citations. The purpose of the memorandum is to affirm CMS's expectation and clarification that when noncompliance with a federal requirement has been identified, the facility or provider will receive a deficiency associated with the noncompliance.
